Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

To enrich students' daily learning experience, it is essential that students bring their own laptop to school. Laptops are used by students to create content, research topics and interact through online activities.

In order to provide students with the right tools to enhance their learning experience, the device should meet the minimum specifications as follows:

A laptop device with a touch screen and stylus/pen is highly recommended

Microsoft Windows 11

WIRELESS CAPABLE

5GHz 802.11n or higher specifications of 802.11AC or 802.11AX

May be advertised as ‘DUAL BAND’ or ‘GIGABIT Wireless capable’

BATTERY LIFE

Advertised battery life of eight hours use. Students are required to arrive at school with their laptop fully charged.

8GB RAM minimum

16GB RAM recommended

At least 256GB SSD (Solid State Device)

INSURANCE & WARRANTY

3-year Warranty (often included in price)

Accidental loss and breakage insurance (highly recommended)

SOFTWARE

Microsoft Office 365 is provided by the Department for Education for students to use free of charge

SECOND-HAND LAPTOPS

Second-hand laptops are not recommended due to poor battery life and performance

To assist families purchase a suitable laptop, the school has a partnership with our provider EduNet. This provider offers a substantial price benefit and extended warranty that you may not receive through a normal retailer (most retailers only offer a 12 month warranty at best).

We understand that not all parents will be in a financial position to purchase a new laptop outright, so there are interest free payment plan options available. The school will facilitate the repair of machines purchased through these providers.
